Join My Carnival Online: My Mobile Sends Live Pictures
I am very excited! This year I will again be able to celebrate Carnival in my hometown Bergisch Gladbach and in nearby Cologne. In addition to the common "Kamelle" (sweets thrown from the floats) I have organized a special goodie: I will be able to take a lot of pictures of the parades in Bergisch Gladbach on Carnival Sunday and in Cologne on Rose Monday with my mobile photo phone. These photos will be transmitted directly to my website. Dieter Porzberg, of Oevermann Networks, who hosts my German and English websites, is the one who makes this all possible. And so I hope you join in the fun and accompany us through the streets.
The excitement starts on Carnival Sunday, February 6th at 12.11 p.m., when the parade of Bergisch Gladbach begins. I will join ithe fun with a float I have borrowed from some carnival fans in the surroundings. We all will roll through town more than three hours, throwing sweets from the float among the costumed people on the road. Especially it will be those candies which come into the American stores just now. I'm looking forward to those faces I will recognize in the crowd and along the route. As most of my friends frequent the same places they did when I was growing up at my parents home.
The Cologne parade on Rose Monday is also great, even though it is much bigger. When it starts at 11.11 a.m. on February 7th Seal and I and our guests will ride with the "Rote Funken", an old carnival society. And the photo mobile phone will be with us to capture all the action! You will notice that I am wearing the uniform which was given to me as a gift by the society two years ago. Do you want to know what my fancy dress for Bergisch Gladbach will looks like? Just wait... and visit this site when time is right!
By the way: Don?t worry if you see me kissing men. "Bützen" (Kissing) is an old carnival tradition.
